This wondrous place within our soul
So hid, so deep, no man could know
Where God has placed eternity
This fallen man set free could be
But there it hung, a veil there was
To block our way and keep us from
The tree of life, the Holy One

But there’s a man who died for us!
The Lamb of God, pure, blameless trust
Of spirit born, God’s gift to men
Jesus the Lord who died for them
His body broken on the cross
Sin was destroyed, his head was crushed
And now that veil’s been torn for us!

This righteous act Jesus displayed
It satisfied God’s righteous way
We now enter the Holiest
Of Holy places where we rest
And so receive what He has done
Even receive the Shining One!
Emmanuel, His peace has come!

There’s only one way to be saved
God works through our spirit today
Not by ourselves nor through our pow’r
We have no strength and near’s the hour
So to this wondrous place we turn
To gain the promised world to come
When Christ shall reign in His kingdom
